WASHINGTON – The Republican controlled House of Representatives voted on Wednesday to repeal the 2010 health care law in a 244 to 185 vote. The repeal is given no chance of passing in the Senate.
Among those who voted for the repeal was Republican Nan Hayworth…
Hours before the vote, members of the Hudson Valley Central Labor Council protested it at a Newburgh rally. Group president Paul Ellis-Graham said the rally had a dual purpose.
“It’s criticism of Hayworth’s vote against the affordable care act and her Republican supporters, but it’s also an affirmation of President Obama’s plan for the affordable healthcare act to try to address a major need that hasn’t been addressed to the level that it has been in 100 years,” Ellis-Graham said.
