President Obama’s Announcement on Deferred Action for Immigrant Youth

Working families across our state welcome the Obama Administration’s announcement to provide relief from deportation to immigrant youth brought to this country by their parents at a young age. For many, our country is all they have really ever known; it is their home. The President has shown tremendous leadership and courage to ensure that so many young New Yorkers, who were educated here and have deep bonds to our communities, no longer have to live in fear of deportation. Our future just got brighter, now that these New Yorkers can fully contribute to our economy and realize the American dream.

  1. Was this for political gain or was this for the best interst of the American people?.Before I take any more people into this country,I would make sure every American is back to work.As a union construction worker who has seen lots of unemployment, how could this be good for our industry. The AFL-CIO should take a look around non-union job’s in NYC and see who working them,I tell you illegal immigrants,If the people at AFL-CIO were out ofwork for 6 to 7 month everytime they would understand. We need to get our own house in order before we take take any more people in.
