The Time To Pass Paid Family Leave Is Now!


No one should have to choose between the health of their family and their ability to make ends meet.

As this Community Service Society’s Unheard Third survey data reveals, far too many New York working women and men face financial crisis for taking time off to care for a newborn, a seriously ill family member, or an aging parent.  The New York State AFL-CIO has joined a coalition of organizations to fight for a new Paid Family Leave law in New York state.  Now we need your help!

The Paid Family Leave Insurance Act will help keep New York’s families healthy and secure by providing weekly benefits to workers to care for a family member, replacing part of their wages for up to 12 weeks.  California, New Jersey and Rhode Island already have paid family leave, it’s time for New York to do the same.
