Statement of New York State AFL-CIO President Mario Cilento on Andrew Puzder "On behalf of the 2.5 million members of the New York State AFL-CIO, I want to thank Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand for leading the fight to oppose Andrew Puzder's confirmation as Labor Secretary. There was never any question that Mr. Puzder was the wrong choice. To all the union members who took the time to make their voices heard either through a phone call, letter or petition; your actions made a difference and played a critical role in preventing Mr. Puzder's confirmation from going forward. We need a Secretary of Labor who puts working men and women first and clearly Andrew Puzder was not that person."
