New York State AFL-CIO supports NYSNA nurses at Albany Medical Center in their fight for a fair contract
Albany - “We fully support the dedicated professional nurses represented by NYSNA who have the experience and expertise vital to the health and well-being of their patients, particularly now during the pandemic,” said Mario Cilento, president of the New York State AFL-CIO.
"They have been standing up for the patients who depend on them and putting their own health at risk but unfortunately have been given no other choice than to strike.
“The fact that nurses at Albany Medical Center voted to be represented by a union two and half years ago yet still don’t have a contract is outrageous.
"It is an absolute disgrace that hospital management, during one of the worst health crises of our time, is unwilling to negotiate a fair contract with the same workers they elevate as heroes - when it suits them.
"These nurses deserve a fair contract and have the full resources of the New York State AFL-CIO at their disposal throughout this fight.”
