Join us for a Labor Day Rally and BBQ at Waryas Park in Poughkeepsie! Please arrive at 10 am to receive your food ticket. The speaking program will begin at 10:30 a.m. Please bring lawn chairs if you have them and a non-perishable food item. Food will be served from the food truck at 11:30 am. Thank you!

This Labor Day weekend, join America's labor unions and working people across the country as we take back OUR day and show the big corporations who we are and how we fight. Prove that together we are, have been, and will always be Union Strong! Labor Day will begin with a special mass at St. Martin of Tours RC Church on Abbott Rd. beginning at 9:00 AM. Line up for the parade begins at 10:00 AM along Dorrance Ave, and the parade begins at 11 AM. The parade route is identical to the last few years: Starting along McKinley, to Red Jacket, then along Warren Spahn Way. Please join Join the Rochester Labor Council, AFL-CIO, our affiliated locals, political candidates, and community partners as we take to the streets to celebrate worker solidarity, strength, and community power! The parade will step off at 11 a.m. at the corner of East & Alexander, head west on Main St., then finish at Main & St. Paul Street.
Capital District ALF: Michael L. Burns Labor Day Celebration

Last year on Labor Day, over 2,000 union members and their families came together to reclaim Labor Day. This year the celebration will take place Labor Day, September 7th, 2026 from noon to 4:00 pm at Joe Bruno Stadium in Troy. Since there is no game that day, we will have this wonderful location to ourselves. Like last year, the event is free and open to all union members, retirees and families. We will have more food stations, shorter lines and more family friendly activities. We are asking everyone attending to bring a non-perishable food item. We are planning to fill a truck for the food pantries and the food bank.

As we mark 25 years since September 11th, we will honor the workers who ran toward danger, helped our city recover and rebuild, and paid an enormous price in the years that followed. New York City's strength comes from the people who build, maintain, teach, heal, transport, protect, and keep our city running every day. This mobilization is an opportunity for the entire New York City Labor Movement to come together and demonstrate the strength, solidarity, and power of working people, while standing up for the rights, freedoms, and future of all New Yorkers. We’ll meet on Zoom and provide a quick training at the beginning of each phone bank before we start making calls. We’ll walk you through everything you need to know and be available throughout the phone bank to answer questions. The Zoom link and additional instructions will be emailed to registered participants prior to each phone bank. When union members stand together, our voices are stronger. WPCLB Political Mobilization Training

Please join the WPCLB on September 9th at 6:30 pm for a Political Mobilization Training. The purpose of this training is to increase Labor's field organizing capacity to elect pro-worker candidates in targeted races. The training will also ensure participants overcome volunteer hesitation, hold conversations with union members, increase participation in campaigns, and understand the chain of command for effective campaign communication. Tentative Agenda: Welcome and Overview New York State AFL-CIO Political Bootcamp Campaign Structure, Roles and Communication, Pillars of Union Voter Contact, Volunteer Recruitment, and Retention, Daily Work Plan for Precinct/Zone Leads, Adult Learning, Best Practices, Practice Facilitation, Planning Session, and Wrap Up.
