Statement by President Mario Cilento on the Passing of Danny Donohue

"The Union Movement has lost not only an incredible leader but also an extraordinary human being with the recent passing of Danny Donohue.

Danny was a leader in every sense of the word; his commitment to the Civil Service Employees Association, where he served as president, and to the New York State AFL-CIO, where he dedicated 26 years as a board member, was truly inspiring.

On a personal level, Danny meant so much to me, from my first day as president of our state federation, all the way through his retirement. He was a tireless and passionate advocate who always put the needs of his members first.

His larger-than-life personality was a perfect match for his deep commitment to the people he served. Danny will be profoundly missed."
