Tell NYS: Protect Workers Who Are Sick and Dying Because of Their Jobs
Working people who have carried us through this health crisis, often at their own peril, must not be victimized a second time by being denied workers’ compensation.
The New York State Workers’ Compensation Board has the authority to establish a presumption by simply acknowledging what we all know: workers on the front lines of the pandemic are at significantly greater risk of exposure to COVID-19 as a result of their jobs. No reasonable person could suggest otherwise.
Thirteen other states have already acted. But here in New York State, the Workers' Compensation Board did nothing to protect workers and survivors. Now, it's now up to the legislature. Please tell them to protect workers.
