We Remember

On this somber day, we take pause to reflect on the lives lost and we honor the heroes who without hesitation risked their own lives in hopes of saving others. The horrific, cowardly attack on America on September 11, 2001 killed nearly 3,000 people, injured thousands more and continues to cause death and illness to still thousands of others who helped during the rescue and recovery effort. We promised after 9/11 we would never forget the sacrifices our brothers and sisters made then and continue to make today. The James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Reauthorization Act is now law making healthcare for responders and survivors permanent. The Victims Compensation Fund was extended and fully funded as well. But, this fight is not over. We will continue to fight for our brothers and sisters who have fallen ill as a result of their heroic actions to make sure those who require care and compensation get it, now and into the future.
