Statement by New York State AFL-CIO President Mario Cilento on the nomination of Justice Hector LaSalle for Chief Judge of the New York State Court of Appeals

Albany, NY - The nomination for Chief Judge of the New York State Court of Appeals is troubling. New York needs a Chief Judge that supports workers and their unions. Justice Hector LaSalle has unfortunately shown a willingness to put the interests of corporations ahead of workers which is disturbing in a state with a long history of supporting workers’ rights.
