Albany, NY –  “New York is taking bold and decisive action against the scourge of sexual harassment in the workplace.

This legislation is an important step to ensure we are not only changing the law, but the culture that has made sexual harassment so pervasive.

This has been a priority issue for the New York State AFL-CIO.  For far too long sexual harassment has been overlooked resulting in intolerable working conditions that have been harmful to countless women and men. This legislation leads us to our goal to ensure a safe work environment where all working people are treated with dignity and respect.

We commend the governor and legislative leaders for passing this responsible legislation that will help make workplaces safer for all workers.”
